I decided to needle felt some lines on my egg. Pull a small amount of wool into a straight line. To keep the line thin on the egg just poke in a small area. The wool will go where you poke.
Then I decided to add some dots to the egg. Again I just poked in a small area and the wool just went into that area. The egg shape might get out of wack as you are adding the embellishments. Just take your needle and gently reshape the egg as you go.

This is the egg so far.

You keep poking with the needle and keep moving the egg shape around in your hands or on the mat. As you keep poking the egg will get smaller and tighter. (firmer)

When it gets as firm as you want you can start to embelish the egg.

How to needlefelt an Easter Egg.

First you get your wool. Then roll it up loosely in the shape of an egg.

With your needle start poking into the wool. Keep poking and moving the wool around over and under until you get it secured together and in the shape of an egg.

New Blog about needlefelting

This is a small 2" bear that I made by needle felting wool. Needle felting is a dry form of felting wool and other animal hair/fur. I start out with a handful of wool and using special needle felting needles (they have barbs) I poke the wool until it felts (gets firm) and use the needles to shape the wool into the image I want.

This blog is going to go into more details on how to needle felt, the tools used, and images of needle felted items. Needle felting can be 3D images like the picture about or it can be flat images.
